Rhodes Town is a unique combination of old and new. The modern financial and cultural centre is juxtaposed against the old town's medieval past. Steeped in history, the old town features a maze of narrow streets and medieval sites, such as the Knight's Castle and the Castello. Rhodes Town becomes very crowded during the summer months, so it may be preferable to visit in late spring or early autumn.
